Songs of the Girl, Part 3

If you have followed this blog for any period of time, you know my kids improvise songs quite regularly, especially when they are alone. Especially on the toilet. And especially quite loudly. I haven’t been writing down the lyrics as much as I’d like, but here is the latest set from Beth, age 4:

  1. Rayco the pet acorn,
    He’s my cute pet acorn,
He came down from the leaves
To be with me, me, meeeeee!

  2. Every number has a name.
    Every number has a dream.
    If they don’t be careful,
They’re going to drown in the pool.

  3. Sherpa wool, sherpa wool,
    Is different from the snow.
    Sherpa wool, sherpa wool,
Is the same color as the snow.
    Sherpa wool, sherpa wool,
    Is different from the snow.
    Snow falls from the sky,
    Sherpa wool doesn’t.
Sherpa wool, sherpa wool, SHERPA WOOOOOOL!

  4. Bird beaks go to meat meat,
And then they toot toot toot.

  5. I just came up to get a brush,
    And nosy where to there?
I just came up to get a brush,
    And nosy where to there!
    (repeat 50x)

  6. Sun strings, sun strings,
    Shine through everythings,
It’s really weird that the sun is hot
And I don’t understand it but
The sun is as bright as me!

Various past lyrics:

I should probably compile all these into one page, eh?

Not everyone will appreciate this, but these kids have rhythm. I shared Khaliyl’s original video in 2011, when he was 2 years old.

Songs of the Boy, Part 9

It’s been awhile, but here are some more lines from Luke’s improvised singing:

  • If you hit my anger button / You’re gonna be sorry sorry SORRY!
  • There are butts in the air / There are butts on the ground / There are butts in the ocean / There are butts all around / There are butts butts butts butts BUUUUUUUUUTTS!
  • You got more rocks in your head / Than I have in my rock collection / And I think you’re stuck.
  • Don’t flush the chicken down the toilet / Unless Dad has the plunger ready.

Various past lyrics:

  1. From Luke: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8.
  2. From Beth, see 1, 2, and this Thanksgiving thing.
  3. Also this.

Songs of the Girl, Part 2

For previously noted songs of Beth, age 4, see this (or these from Luke: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7).

A few recent lines:

  • Inchworm, inchworm, measuring my butt. / I hope it’s not as big as it looks.
  • There’s a robot / Driving down the road / Uh oh, uh oh / I stepped on it to pieces!
  • Girls are beautiful, girls are pretty / but boys are just boys.
  • My brain is sending a message to my hand / and it says hello, hand!

Songs of the Boy, Part 4

More improvised song lyrics from Luke, age 7. (also see 1, 2, 3)  Typically these were repeated multiple times. Any song involving farting or poop is likely to have been sung at the top of his lungs while he was sitting on the toilet.

  • Yeah, yeah, nah, nah, I call my daddy dada / I don’t want to stop now to get my data.
  • I’m the super pooper and nobody can make me stop!
  • I can do anything I want to my room / except sell it and buy a mansion.
  • Oh Daddy, please stop singing / before you make me ca-razy!
  • I’m shaking my booty, booty in the air, air, air / and everyone can smell that it’s my derrière.

Songs of the Girl, Part 1

I’ve already posted lines from the strange and silly improvised singing of Luke, age 7; see here, here, and here.  Beth, age 3, does just as much singing, but she is more likely to repeat stuff she’s sung earlier, and she also tends to sing so quietly that I can’t understand her words (whereas Luke usually sings at the top of his lungs, especially if he’s sitting on the toilet).

However, so I don’t leave Beth out, here are a few recent lines I was able to catch.

  • Little rose, grow and grow, little rose we planted a long time ago.
  • It’s a secret, a secret, that I’m going to turn into a butterfly.
  • Little circle, stir and stir, that’s how we eat our oatmeal.
  • Oh bush baby, your fur is as fresh and yummy as new cereal.
  • Little heart, dig and dig, until you find life.

I sense some trends.
